Our Story
Opened in 1977, Niugini Dive Adventures (NDA) is a division of Melanesian Tourist Services - located within Madang Resort.
The only dive company established within ‘beautiful Madang’; the PADI certified facility, NDA is one of the most experienced dive operators in Papua New Guinea. NDA offers PADI resort courses by certified instructors and dive masters; together with an extensive range of offshore diving experiences that are suitable for beginners, advanced divers and right through to elite divers.
Within five-ten minutes of Madang Resort, the crystal-clear waters surrounding Madang offer some of the world’s best diving experiences for divers to discover. NDA operates three fully equipped dive charter boats that take divers out to explore the colourful reefs that await; swim amongst the abundance of spectacular marine life that live within this underwater paradise; and to explore wartime and ship wreck dives.
About Melanesian Tourist Services (MTS)
Melanesian Tourist Services was established by the late Sir Peter Barter CGL OBE in 1975 after falling in love with the spectacular natural beauty of Papua New Guinea, and the warmth of the Melanesian people, whilst flying for TALAIR as a young man.
In addition to its touring and transport operations, Melanesian Tourist Services owns and operates Madang Resort, Kalibobo Village, Niugini Dive Adventures and the Kalibobo Express in Papua New Guinea.
A true Papua New Guinean at heart, Sir Peter’s legacy of championing Papua New Guinea’s tourism industry, together with the wellbeing of the Melanesian people, continues with the next two generations of the Barter family.
